Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
There is no complex setup required for your Hunter Original Short Boots. Simply pull them on. For optimal comfort, ensure you wear appropriate socks, such as thick cotton or wool, which can also help with moisture absorption and warmth in cooler temperatures.
Compatibility
- Sizing: These boots are true to size. If you plan to wear thick socks, you might consider sizing up a half size if available, or just stick to your regular size.
- Clothing: Compatible with various outfits, from casual jeans and leggings to rainproof trousers or skirts. Their mid-calf height makes them versatile for different legwear.
- Activities: Best suited for walking in wet conditions, light gardening, casual outdoor activities, and urban use.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your natural rubber boots:
- Cleaning: After use, wipe down your boots with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or mud. For stubborn dirt, use mild soap and water. Never use harsh detergents, solvents, or stiff brushes as these can damage the rubber.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause the rubber to crack or fade.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep them upright to help maintain their shape. For long-term storage, consider using boot trees to prevent creasing.
- Preventing "Blooming": White powdery film, known as 'blooming', is a natural process where insoluble wax particles rise to the surface of the natural rubber. This is a characteristic of high-quality rubber and not a defect. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth or treated with Hunter Boot Buffer or Silicone Spray to restore the finish and shine.
