Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting your Birkenstock Arizona sandals ready for wear is simple:
- Unbuckle: Open both straps fully.
- Slide In: Place your foot into the sandal, ensuring your heel sits comfortably in the heel cup and your toes are not pressing against the front rim.
- Adjust Straps: Fasten the buckles, adjusting each strap individually so that they feel secure but not too tight. You should be able to slide one finger easily under the strap.
- Walk and Assess: Take a few steps. The straps should hold your foot in place without rubbing. It might take a few days of wear for the footbed to fully mould to your foot.
Compatibility
- Usage: Designed for casual wear, walking, and everyday comfort in dry conditions.
- Season: Best suited for spring and summer months due to their open design and suede material.
- Footwear: Can be worn barefoot or with socks, depending on personal preference and weather.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your suede Birkenstock Arizona sandals:
- Clean the Suede Upper: Use a dedicated suede brush to gently remove dirt and scuffs. For stubborn spots, a suede cleaner can be applied sparingly according to product instructions. Always brush in one direction.
- Footbed Cleaning: Wipe the footbed with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat.
- Avoid Water: Suede is not waterproof. Avoid wearing these sandals in rain, wet grass, or near water sources. If they get wet, stuff them with paper towels to absorb moisture and allow them to air dry naturally, then brush the suede.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. This prevents fading and damage to the materials.
- Protect: Consider applying a suede protector spray before first wear and periodically thereafter to help repel water and stains.
