FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for rocky terrain?
Yes, the rugged outsole and supportive design are specifically built to provide stability and traction on uneven or rocky trails.
Can I wear these for daily casual use?
While durable, they are engineered for hiking performance. They are comfortable enough for daily use, but may feel stiffer than standard running trainers.
How should I clean the waterproof membrane?
Use a damp cloth and mild soap to wipe away debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes.
Do I need to size up for hiking socks?
It is generally recommended to try the shoes with the socks you plan to use for hiking to ensure you have enough room for toe movement.
Are these shoes machine washable?
No, machine washing can damage the structural integrity and the waterproof coating of the shoes.
What is the best way to dry them if they get soaked?
Stuff the interior with paper towels or newspaper to absorb moisture and let them dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel tight after long walks
Feet naturally swell during exercise; try loosening the laces slightly mid-hike to accommodate the change.
Waterproofing appears less effective over time
Dirt can clog the fabric pores; deep clean the exterior and consider applying a technical fabric waterproofing spray.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Superior water resistance for damp environments
- High-traction outsole performs well on uneven terrain
- Excellent shock absorption for long trail sessions
- Durable build quality for frequent outdoor use
Cons
- Stiffer feel compared to casual sneakers
- May require a short break-in period
- Breathability is lower due to waterproof membrane
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure optimal performance, ensure you are wearing appropriate hiking socks that wick moisture away from the skin. For cleaning, remove loose dirt using a soft brush after each outing. If the shoes become heavily soiled, wipe them with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid submerging them fully in water or placing them in a washing machine, as this can degrade the waterproofing technology and adhesive bonds. Always allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the materials.
