FAQs

How many people does this shelter accommodate?

It is designed to comfortably house 2-3 people.

Is the material waterproof?

Yes, it features a 5,000mm hydrostatic head rating and fully taped seams.

Can I use this for sleeping overnight?

This is a temporary survival shelter intended for emergencies, not a replacement for a tent or sleeping bag for overnight camping.

Do I need to carry special poles for the roof?

No, the roof recess is designed to work with standard hiking or walking poles.

Why is the shelter orange?

The bright orange color is used to maximize visibility to search and rescue teams in rugged or snowy terrain.

Troubleshooting

Excessive condensation build-up inside

Ensure the integrated ventilation shaft is fully open and consider slightly loosening one corner to improve cross-breeze.

Shelter feels unstable in high winds

Ensure all occupants are sitting firmly on the internal floor edges to weigh the shelter down, and use a trekking pole in the roof recess for better tension.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent wind and rain protection
Compact and lightweight for easy transport
High-visibility design for emergency rescue
Includes thoughtful details like a ventilation shaft and TPU window
Fits 2-3 people comfortably for short-term shelter

Interior can become humid due to condensation
Limited space when at full 3-person capacity

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup is straightforward: remove the shelter from its stuff sack, unfold it, and place it over the group. To ensure longevity, follow these care instructions:

Compatibility: Ensure your trekking poles have a compatible tip or handle shape for the roof recess.
Cleaning: Always shake off debris and wipe down with a damp cloth after use. Never store the shelter while damp.
Drying: Air dry completely in a shaded area before packing it away to prevent mildew.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the integrity of the nylon material.
