FAQs
Are these shoes true to size?
The adidas Handball Spezial generally fits true to size for a standard UK 9.
Can I use these for handball or indoor sports?
While rooted in handball heritage, these are currently marketed as lifestyle trainers; they lack the advanced cushioning and stability features of modern professional court shoes.
How do I clean the red upper?
Use a soft brush to remove dust. For tougher stains, use a cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water, taking care not to soak the material.
Are these suitable for wide feet?
The low-profile design is somewhat narrow, but the lace-up closure allows for some adjustment in width.
Can I remove the insoles?
Yes, most adidas trainer insoles are removable if you need to insert your own orthotics.
Troubleshooting
Laces constantly coming untied
Ensure you are using a double knot or look into replacement flat laces which offer more friction than round ones.
Surface dirt accumulation
Use a specialized sneaker cleaning solution or a dry, soft brush to lift debris without damaging the material.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Highly versatile for everyday casual wear
- Easy to adjust for a personalized fit

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most out of your adidas Handball Spezial trainers requires minimal setup but consistent care. Upon unboxing, ensure the laces are threaded through all eyelets to distribute pressure evenly across your midfoot.
Care Instructions
- Avoid Moisture: As these often feature soft uppers, avoid wearing them in heavy rain to prevent staining.
- Spot Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush or a slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the vibrant red color.
- Drying: If they get damp, let them air dry naturally at room temperature. Never use a heater or tumble dryer.
