FAQs

What type of runner is the HOKA Clifton 10 best suited for?

The HOKA Clifton 10 is best suited for neutral runners seeking maximum cushioning for daily training, long runs, and recovery efforts. It is also suitable for individuals who prioritize comfort for walking or standing.

What is the heel-to-toe drop of the Clifton 10?

The Clifton 10 has a heel-to-toe drop of 8mm.

How do I clean my HOKA Clifton 10 trainers?

Clean your trainers with a soft brush to remove loose dirt. For a more thorough clean, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water. Allow them to air dry naturally away from heat.

Are these shoes suitable for wide feet?

The Clifton 10 offers a standard width. While the upper is designed for a refined fit, individuals with very wide feet may want to consult sizing charts or try them on to confirm comfort.

What is the main difference from previous Clifton models?

The Clifton 10 features an enhanced midsole with thicker CMEVA foams for increased cushioning and a refined fit with a breathable jacquard upper.

Can I use these for trail running?

The Clifton 10 is primarily designed as a road running shoe. While they can handle very light, well-groomed trails, they lack the aggressive traction and protection needed for technical off-road terrain.

What is the weight of the HOKA Clifton 10?

The HOKA Clifton 10 weighs approximately 227g.

Troubleshooting

Tongue slides to the side

Utilize the double lace lock system provided on the upper eyelets to secure the tongue in place.

Slightly snug fit

Ensure laces are loosened before putting on the shoes, then re-tighten for a custom fit. Consider wearing thinner socks or breaking them in on shorter runs.

Reduced cushioning feel over time

While durable, cushioning can compress. Ensure the shoes are not overused beyond their intended lifespan and consider rotating with another pair if you run frequently.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional cushioning for daily runs and long distances.
Smooth ride and efficient transitions thanks to MetaRocker.
Lightweight feel despite the plush cushioning.
Secure and comfortable fit with refined upper and lacing system.
Durable construction for sustained performance.

Cons

May not offer the responsiveness required for speed-focused training.
Neutral support might not be ideal for runners needing significant pronation control.
The specific colourway might not appeal to all users.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The HOKA Clifton 10 trainers require no specific setup; simply lace them up and go. Ensure the laces are adjusted for a snug but comfortable fit, utilizing the double lace lock system if desired to keep the tongue in place.

Compatibility: These are neutral road running trainers designed primarily for pavement and light trails. They are compatible with most running sock types. Sizing can vary, so it's recommended to consult the HOKA size guide or try them on if possible.

Care: To maintain the condition of your Clifton 10 trainers:

Cleaning: After runs, remove loose dirt with a soft brush. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, as this can damage the materials.
Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
