Troubleshooting
Shoe feels too tight or too loose
Adjust the lacing system to achieve a secure but comfortable fit. Ensure you have selected the correct shoe size. Consider using different lacing techniques for a more personalized fit.
Reduced traction on wet surfaces
Clean the outsole lugs to remove any embedded mud or debris. Vibram Megagrip is designed for versatility, but extreme conditions can affect performance. Ensure the shoe is the correct size to prevent foot slippage inside.
Discomfort during long runs
Ensure the shoes are properly broken in before a long event. Check lacing for pressure points. If discomfort persists, consider if the shoe's cushioning level and support are appropriate for your biomechanics and running style.
Gaiter attachment issues
Refer to the specific instructions provided with the gaiter or on the HOKA website for correct attachment. Ensure all closure points are secured properly to prevent slipping.

Compatibility: The HOKA Mafate 5 is designed for trail running on technical terrain. It is compatible with standard running socks. It is not designed for road running or highly specialized sports.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, brush off loose dirt and debris. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth or a soft brush with cool water. Avoid harsh detergents or solvents.
- Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in a tumble dryer, as this can damage the materials.
