FAQs
Can I use these boots on artificial grass?
No, the SG Pro configuration is specifically designed for soft, natural ground. Using them on artificial grass can lead to reduced traction and potential injury.
What is Gripknit?
Gripknit is a specialized material layer on the upper that provides a consistent touch on the ball regardless of wet or dry playing conditions.
How do I care for the knit upper?
Clean gently with a soft cloth and mild soap. Never machine wash or use a tumble dryer as heat can damage the bonding agents.
Does the Zoom Air unit need maintenance?
The Zoom Air unit is sealed within the soleplate and does not require maintenance, though you should inspect the soleplate for cracks after impact.
Are these boots suitable for wide feet?
The Mercurial line is typically designed for a snug, aerodynamic fit. If you have very wide feet, you may find them restrictive and might need to size up or consider a different model.
Troubleshooting
Studs loosening during play
Check all screw-in studs before every match to ensure they are hand-tightened correctly.
Mud accumulation in traction zones
Use a soft brush or water spray post-match to clear debris from the forefoot wave and stud gaps.
Discomfort during first wear
Elite-level boots often require a short break-in period; wear them for light training sessions before competitive matches.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before your first match, ensure the screw-in studs on the SG Pro plate are fully tightened to prevent loss during play. Because these boots are crafted with premium materials like Atomknit and Gripknit, avoid using harsh abrasive brushes during cleaning. After playing on muddy pitches, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution, then allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources. Avoid storing the boots in a damp bag for extended periods, as this can degrade the specialized knit materials. For best compatibility, wear these only on natural soft-ground surfaces to avoid excessive wear or injury risks associated with using metal-tipped studs on hard synthetic turf.
