The ASICS Magic Speed 5 is a high-performance racing trainer designed for neutral runners seeking to maximize speed and efficiency on the road. Featuring a specialized carbon plate and responsive dual-foam technology, it delivers powerful propulsion and significant energy return, though its firm cushioning profile may not suit runners looking for a plush, maximalist ride.

While wearable by anyone, its specialized design is aimed at neutral runners looking for performance gains, which may feel too firm for those new to running.
The ASICS Magic Speed 5 features a 7 mm heel-to-toe drop.
They are technically capable, but their firm feel makes them better suited for speed work, tempo runs, and race days.
The shoe is designed for neutral runners. It provides a stable platform but does not feature corrective arch support for overpronation.
Use a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent to gently scrub stains. Avoid machine washing or drying.
The Magic Speed 5 is optimized for smooth, hard road surfaces; avoid trail running or uneven terrain where the rigid carbon plate may reduce contact stability.
Ensure you are rotating the shoes with other pairs. High-performance racing foams are designed for efficiency rather than high-mileage durability.
To ensure the best experience, wear these trainers during speed sessions or race-specific training to allow your feet to adapt to the firm carbon plate mechanics. For care, keep the shoes away from extreme heat sources like radiators to prevent midsole degradation. If the outsoles collect debris, use a soft-bristled brush with mild soap and lukewarm water. Always allow the trainers to air-dry naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated area to maintain the integrity of the foam.
