Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
New football boots often require a break-in period to properly mold to your foot shape and provide optimal comfort. We recommend wearing your Furon Elite FG boots for a few shorter training sessions before using them in a full match. This helps prevent discomfort and ensures the materials adapt to your foot's unique contours.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically engineered for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This typically refers to natural grass pitches that are dry to slightly damp. Using FG boots on artificial turf (AG), extremely hard ground (HG), or indoor surfaces can lead to premature wear of the studs, reduced performance, and may increase the risk of injury. Always match your boot type to the playing surface.
Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose mud and debris from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or a damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow your boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), which can dry out and crack the materials.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from dust and damage.
- Insoles: Consider removing the insoles after use to allow them to air out separately, preventing odor build-up.
