Product Information

Full details

This guide is for adults seeking advanced sun protection and insect repellency in a comfortable, lightweight base layer. The key benefit is its ability to block 98% of UVA and UVB rays while also repelling insects, keeping you protected wet or dry. A potential caveat is that the grid-textured fabric may feel different from a standard smooth jersey. The NosiLife SolarShield+ Long Sleeved T-Shirt is constructed from specially developed SolarShield+ moisture-wicking fabric designed to provide excellent UV protection and insect defense.

FAQs

How effective is the UV protection?

The SolarShield+ fabric blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays, providing excellent UPF 50+ protection.

Does the insect repellent wash off?

The NosiLife technology is designed to be durable and last for the lifetime of the garment, providing protection for many washes when cared for correctly. Avoid fabric softeners which can degrade the treatment.

Can I wear this in hot weather?

Yes, the fabric is lightweight and moisture-wicking, making it comfortable for warm weather activities. It provides essential UV protection when the sun is strong.

Is this shirt suitable for sensitive skin?

The NosiLife technology uses a permethrin-based treatment which is bound to the fabric. It is generally considered safe for skin contact and is designed to be non-irritating for most users.

What is the difference between SolarShield+ and NosiLife?

SolarShield+ refers to the fabric's ability to block UV rays, while NosiLife refers to the integrated insect-repellent properties of the fabric.

How should I wash this t-shirt?

Machine wash at 30°C with a mild, liquid detergent. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Tumble dry on low or line dry.

Can this be worn as a standalone shirt or only as a base layer?

It can be worn as a standalone shirt in appropriate weather conditions or as a comfortable, protective base layer under other clothing.

Troubleshooting

Insect repellent effect seems reduced

Ensure the garment has been washed according to care instructions. Avoid fabric softeners. The NosiLife treatment is designed to last for many washes, but effectiveness may naturally decrease over time with extensive use and washing.

Fabric feels stiff or less comfortable

Ensure you are using a mild detergent and have not used fabric softener. Washing the garment may help restore its natural feel. Check care label for specific washing temperatures.

Reduced UV protection noticed

Verify the garment is not excessively worn or damaged. The SolarShield+ technology is embedded in the fabric's construction and should remain effective unless the fabric is compromised. Ensure the garment is not stretched thin in areas.
