FAQs

Are these sandals suitable for babies who are just learning to walk?

Yes, the elastic backstrap provides the extra security needed for infants and toddlers who need a stable shoe.

Can these be washed in a washing machine?

It is not recommended. Hand washing with mild soap and a soft cloth is the best way to maintain the integrity of the rubber.

How do I choose the right size?

Havaianas baby sizes are typically listed by age or UK standard sizes; check the size chart to ensure there is a small amount of room for growth.

Will the logo fade with water exposure?

The Havaianas logo and flag are designed to be durable, but standard wear and tear over time is normal.

Are these shoes heat resistant?

Yes, they are heat resistant, but it is still advised to keep them out of intense, direct sun when not worn to keep the rubber cool for your child's feet.

Troubleshooting

Backstrap feels too tight on the heel

Ensure the foot is positioned correctly on the rice grain footbed; if the child has outgrown the size, transition to the next size up for a comfortable fit.

Sandal feels slippery when wet

Rinse the footbed to remove any accumulated sunscreen or lotion, which can create a slick surface on the rubber.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear
Non-slip design provides added safety
Water-resistant materials are perfect for beach or pool
Soft elastic backstrap prevents the shoe from slipping off
Durable, high-quality rubber that survives rough play

Cons

Limited to warm-weather use
Requires proper sizing for growing toddlers
Rubber can become hot if left in direct sunlight for long periods

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Getting your child into their Havaianas is simple thanks to the slip-on design and flexible backstrap. To care for your sandals, simply rinse them with fresh water after exposure to salt or chlorine. To clean stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can degrade the rubber. To maintain the shape of the footwear, store them in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight when not in use.
