Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your hiking shoes:
- Cleaning:
- After each use, knock off any loose dirt or mud.
- For a deeper clean, use a soft brush or cloth with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Gently scrub the exterior.
- Do NOT machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the waterproof membrane and materials.
- Drying:
- Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause materials to crack or shrink.
- You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Waterproof Maintenance:
- The 100% waterproof membrane is integrated within the shoe. For external fabric repellency (DWR coating, if present), you may re-apply a DWR treatment periodically if you notice water no longer beads off the surface. Always use products specifically designed for breathable waterproof footwear.
- Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew growth.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the outsole for embedded debris or excessive wear, and the upper for any signs of damage.
