The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Short Puffer Jacket is designed for adult women who prioritize both heritage 90s fashion and high-performance winter insulation. It provides exceptional warmth through 700-fill goose down while maintaining a breathable, water-resistant exterior, making it an excellent choice for cold urban environments or light outdoor excursions; however, the short, boxy silhouette may not provide the full-length coverage preferred for extreme blizzard conditions.

Fill power measures the loft or 'fluffiness' of down. A 700-fill rating indicates high-quality down that provides excellent insulation for its weight.
This is normal for high-fill down jackets. Gently pull the feather back into the jacket from the inside rather than pulling it through the fabric.
Tumble dry the jacket on low heat with dryer balls for 15-20 minutes to re-fluff the down clusters.
Re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray treatment specifically made for outdoor apparel once the factory coating wears off.
To maintain the loft of the 700-fill down, ensure the jacket is stored hanging in a cool, dry place rather than compressed for long periods. When cleaning, machine wash on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent designed for down garments. It is highly recommended to tumble dry on low heat with clean tennis balls or dryer balls to help restore the jacket's signature loft and prevent the down from clumping. Because the fit is a relaxed, vintage boxy style, it layers perfectly over thicker sweaters or hoodies without restricting arm movement.
