Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- First Wear: Before your first match or intense training, wear the boots for short periods around the house or during light activities to begin the break-in process. This helps the materials conform to your foot shape.
- Lacing: Ensure the lacing is snug but not overly tight. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points. A double knot is recommended to prevent laces from coming undone during play.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are exclusively designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This includes natural grass pitches that are dry to slightly damp.
- Not Recommended For: Using FG boots on artificial grass (AG), turf, or extremely soft/muddy ground can lead to premature wear of the studs and soleplate, and may also increase the risk of injury. For AG surfaces, consider boots specifically designed with an AG soleplate.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will significantly extend the lifespan and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Every Use: Immediately after playing, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush (like a toothbrush) or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Rinse (if necessary): If heavily soiled, lightly rinse the boots with water, but do not submerge them.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, hairdryers) as this can damage the materials and adhesives. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag for protection during transport.
- Odor Control: Use odor-absorbing inserts or sprays if needed to keep them fresh.
