FAQs

Is this fleece waterproof?

No, this is a polyester fleece designed for warmth, not as a waterproof outer shell.

Can this be worn in the winter?

It is ideal as a layering piece under a waterproof or insulated winter coat, but it is not intended to be worn as a primary outer layer in harsh winter conditions.

Does the fleece shrink in the dryer?

To prevent shrinkage, it is highly recommended to air dry the garment rather than using a tumble dryer.

Is the material itchy?

No, the polyester fabric is designed to be soft against the skin, making it comfortable for all-day wear.

How do I determine the right size for my child?

This model is sized by age; the size 9-10 is suitable for most children within that age range, though we recommend checking current height and chest measurements if unsure.

Troubleshooting

Zip feels stiff or sticks when moving

Ensure no fabric is caught in the teeth and gently clean any debris or dirt from the zip track.

Fabric surface shows small pills after multiple washes

Use a fabric shaver or gentle garment brush to remove surface pills and restore a smooth finish.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Lightweight construction prevents overheating during play
Easy-to-use half-zip design for temperature regulation
Durable polyester material resists daily wear and tear
Versatile style works well for school, hiking, or lounging

Cons

Polyester material may not provide sufficient insulation in sub-zero temperatures
Limited to a single front pocket rather than side pockets
Requires proper care to maintain fabric softness

Setup, Compatibility & Care

The Ovie Fleece is a ready-to-wear garment requiring no setup. For optimal longevity, follow these care instructions:

Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees to preserve the fabric integrity.
Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources to prevent material shrinkage.
Compatibility: The slim-to-mid profile makes it compatible with most standard waterproof jackets and windbreakers, allowing for effective layering systems.
