FAQs
Is this jacket warm enough for winter?
The Bayhead is a shell jacket with no built-in insulation. It is perfect for winter if you wear a warm fleece or down jacket underneath.
Can I put this jacket in the dryer?
It is recommended to air dry the jacket to avoid damaging the waterproof membrane with excessive heat.
What does 5000mvp breathability mean?
It indicates the jacket allows 5000 grams of moisture vapor to pass through a square meter of fabric over 24 hours, keeping you dry from the inside out.
Does the hood detach?
The hood is designed for integrated protection and is not removable.
Is the jacket machine washable?
Yes, but use a low-temperature, gentle cycle and avoid harsh chemicals or fabric softeners.
Troubleshooting
Water appears to soak into the outer fabric
This often means the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating needs refreshing. Clean the jacket and apply a suitable reproofing spray.
Feeling damp inside despite no rain leaks
This is likely caused by condensation. Ensure you are layering correctly with moisture-wicking base layers rather than cotton.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your jacket maintains its performance over time, follow these guidelines:
- Fit: The jacket is designed for standard layering. Select your usual size to comfortably fit a fleece or sweater underneath.
- Care: Wash with specialized waterproof garment cleaners or mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Avoid fabric softeners as they can strip the waterproof coating.
- Drying: Air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators to protect the material integrity.
- Maintenance: Periodically check for debris in the hood toggles to ensure smooth operation.
