Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your adidas Mundial Team Astro trainers is straightforward, but understanding their specific use and care will maximize their lifespan and performance.
Setup
- Lace Up: Simply insert your foot and use the lace closure to achieve a secure, comfortable fit. Adjust the laces to your preference to ensure your foot is snug but not overly tight.
- Break-in (Optional but Recommended): As these trainers feature a leather upper, a short break-in period over a few training sessions can help the leather mold perfectly to the shape of your foot, enhancing comfort and fit.
Compatibility
- Ideal Surfaces: These trainers are specifically engineered for optimal performance on artificial grass, astro turf, and hard ground surfaces. The multistudded rubber outsole is designed for these conditions, providing the best grip and durability.
- Not Recommended For: They are not suitable for natural grass pitches. The outsole pattern will not provide adequate grip on soft, natural ground and could potentially damage the trainers or lead to instability.
Care
- Clean After Each Use: After every game or training session, wipe down the leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt, mud, and debris. This prevents grime from drying into the leather.
- Deep Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, use a specialized leather cleaner according to its instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes, which can damage the leather.
- Conditioning: To maintain the leather's suppleness and prevent cracking, apply a small amount of leather conditioner periodically. This helps to nourish and protect the material.
- Outsole Maintenance: Use a stiff brush (not wire) to remove any trapped rubber pellets or dirt from the multistudded Traxion outsole. Ensuring the studs are clear maintains optimal grip.
- Drying: Allow your trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators), which can dry out and crack the leather.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
