FAQs

Can I operate the awning if the solar battery is drained?

The electric motor relies on the stored energy from the solar panel. Ensure the panel is placed in an area that receives adequate direct sunlight to avoid power issues.

How wide is this awning?

This specific model measures 350cm in width and 250cm in depth.

Is the awning waterproof?

The awning is primarily designed for sun protection. While it can withstand light drizzle, it is not intended for use during heavy rain or wind.

What tools are needed for assembly?

You will generally need a drill, a spirit level, measuring tape, and appropriate fixings for your specific wall type, as well as a ladder.

Is the grey fabric color prone to fading?

The material is designed for outdoor use, but like all outdoor fabrics, it may see minor natural weathering over many years of direct sun exposure.

Troubleshooting

Awning fails to extend or retract

Check the remote control battery and ensure the solar panel has received sufficient sunlight for a full charge.

Awning makes unusual noises during movement

Inspect the aluminium tracks and arms for any obstructions or debris that might be interfering with the mechanical parts.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This awning requires a DIY assembly process, so ensure you have the necessary tools and a stable mounting surface—such as a solid masonry or concrete wall—before beginning. Detailed instructions provided with the kit should be followed carefully to ensure structural integrity. Compatibility depends on your wall type; avoid mounting on flimsy surfaces or siding without proper reinforcement. To maintain the awning, periodically clean the fabric with a soft brush and mild soapy water to remove dust and debris. Ensure the solar panel remains free from leaves or grime to maintain optimal battery charging. During harsh winter months or extreme storm warnings, it is recommended to keep the awning in the fully retracted position to prevent potential damage.
