Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup and Installation:
- Substrate Preparation: Ensure the framing (timber or metal studs) is straight, securely fixed, and at the correct spacing to support the board edge and face.
- Cutting: Measure and cut boards accurately using a sharp utility knife and straight edge. For cleaner cuts, score deeply on one side and snap over a firm edge.
- Fixing: Fix boards perpendicular to the framing members using appropriate drywall screws. Ensure screws are driven just below the board surface without breaking the paper.
- Jointing: For square edge boards, butt joints tightly together. Apply jointing tape and compound as per manufacturer recommendations for the desired finish. For textured finishes or direct decoration, minimal jointing may be required.
Compatibility:
This plasterboard is compatible with standard drywall framing systems (timber and metal studs) and most common jointing compounds, plasters, primers, and paints. Ensure any adhesives or finishes used are suitable for plasterboard surfaces.
Care:
Store boards flat in a dry, protected area, away from moisture and extreme temperatures. Handle with care to avoid damage to edges and corners during transport and installation. After installation, clean surfaces with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
