Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Begin by loosening the laces completely. Slide your foot into the boot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated at the back.
- Tongue Adjustment: Center the tongue to prevent rubbing.
- Lace Up: Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling snugly but not overly tight. As you move up, use the top hooks to secure the ankle collar firmly. This creates ankle support and prevents heel slip.
- Test Fit: Stand up, walk around. Your toes should not touch the front of the boot. There should be a thumb's width space between your longest toe and the end of the boot.
Compatibility
These boots are best suited for:
- Day hiking on established trails
- Woodland walks and forest paths
- Dog walking in various conditions
- General outdoor activities in mild to moderate weather
- Suitable for diverse terrains including dirt, gravel, grass, and light rocky paths.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, especially in muddy conditions, brush off loose dirt with a soft brush. Use warm water and a mild boot cleaner (or gentle soap) to clean the outer surface. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do NOT place them near direct heat sources like radiators or fires, as this can damage materials and adhesives. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain shape.
- Waterproofing: Periodically re-apply a suitable waterproofing treatment to the outer material to maintain water repellency. Follow the product instructions for the treatment.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
