Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Metcon 9 shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Lace your shoes securely, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques if you have specific foot shape needs. A proper lace-up prevents your foot from sliding within the shoe, enhancing stability.
- Initial Wear: Wear your Metcon 9s for lighter activities or shorter workouts initially to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape. While designed for immediate performance, a brief break-in period can enhance overall comfort.
Compatibility
- Workout Types: The Metcon 9 is highly compatible with a broad range of functional fitness, CrossFit, weightlifting, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts.
- Socks: For optimal comfort and moisture management, pair your Metcon 9s with athletic socks that offer cushioning and wicking properties.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your Nike Metcon 9s:
- Cleaning:
- Wipe off dirt and grime with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, as they can damage the shoe's materials.
- For tougher spots, use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) to gently scrub the affected area.
- The rubber rope wrap can be cleaned similarly to maintain its grip.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Do not place them in a dryer, near direct heat sources, or in direct sunlight, as extreme heat can deform materials and degrade adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Keeping them well-ventilated helps prevent odor buildup.
- Odor Control: After intense workouts, remove the insoles and allow both the shoes and insoles to air out separately. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle a small amount of baking soda inside the shoes overnight to absorb odors (ensure to tap it out thoroughly before wearing).
