FAQs

How do I choose the right size?

The jumper comes in standard UK women's sizing. Check the label for the 'S' or specific UK size (e.g., 10) to ensure a regular fit.

Is this jumper machine washable?

Due to the delicate nature of wool-based knitwear, we strongly recommend hand washing to prevent damage or shrinkage.

Can I wear this in the summer?

It is primarily designed for cooler weather, though it can serve as a light layer for chilly summer evenings.

Does the material itch?

The knit is crafted for comfort; however, those with extreme sensitivity to wool should wear a thin base layer underneath.

What is the primary difference between the variants?

Variants may differ by size, neckline (V-neck vs standard), and pattern (solid vs plaid).

Troubleshooting

Pilling on the surface after frequent wear

Gently use a fabric shaver or a sweater stone to remove fuzz balls without damaging the knit.

Garment losing shape

Ensure you are storing the jumper folded flat. If it becomes stretched, dampen it slightly and reshape it on a flat surface while drying.

Wrinkles from storage

Use a handheld garment steamer on a low setting; do not press the iron directly onto the knit fabric.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Timeless design that pairs well with existing wardrobes
Durable craftsmanship synonymous with the Barbour brand
Comfortable regular fit for daily use
Sophisticated aesthetic suitable for both professional and casual environments

Cons

Requires delicate care to maintain knit integrity
Limited to hand-wash or specialized cleaning methods
Grey color may require careful coordination with other bold colors

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Barbour jumper, proper care is essential. Always check the internal garment tag for specific fiber composition before cleaning. Generally, this item should be hand-washed in cool water using a mild wool detergent. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric, as this can cause stretching. Lay the jumper flat on a clean towel in a shaded area to dry, away from direct heat sources like radiators to prevent shrinking. When storing, fold the item rather than hanging it on a wire hanger to keep the shoulders from becoming misshapen.
