Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Anacapa hiking shoes, follow these care steps:
- Initial Break-in: Wear them for short walks around the house or on local paved paths before attempting a long-distance trail to allow the materials to conform to your feet.
- Cleaning: Remove excess dirt after each hike using a soft-bristled brush. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water; avoid machine washing, which can damage the GORE-TEX membrane.
- Drying: Air dry only in a cool, shaded area. Keep away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as heat can warp the midsole foam and compromise the adhesive bonds.
- Storage: Store in a well-ventilated area to prevent moisture buildup inside the shoe.
