Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced firmly but not overly tight. Experiment with lacing patterns to find the most comfortable and secure fit for your foot shape.
- Breaking In: New boots often require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions before a competitive match to allow the materials to mold to your foot. This helps prevent discomfort and blisters.
- Sock Choice: Wear your preferred football socks during the break-in period and subsequent play to ensure optimal fit and feel.
Compatibility
- Pitch Type: These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means natural grass pitches that are not excessively soft or waterlogged.
- Avoid Other Surfaces: Using FG boots on Artificial Grass (AG), Turf (TF), or Indoor (IC) surfaces can lead to premature wear of the outsole and may compromise traction, potentially causing injury.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use:
- Knock off excess mud and dirt from the outsole.
- Wipe down the upper with a damp cloth to remove surface grime.
- For stubborn dirt, use a soft brush or sponge with mild soap and water.
- Do NOT machine wash or tumble dry as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying:
- Remove insoles (if removable) and stuff the boots with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can cause materials to crack or shrink.
- Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport.
- Material Specifics: The upper is synthetic/textile. Follow general care for these materials. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
