Product Information
Full details
The Blagdon Pond Barley Straw Bale is a safe and 100% natural solution for treating string algae, green water, and blanket weed in ponds. It is friendly to fish and plants, and safe for pets and wildlife. This natural treatment works by the natural bacterial breakdown of the barley straw, which can take 2-6 weeks for full effectiveness. It works best when the water temperature is 10°C or higher, during the algae growing season. It is recommended to place the barley straw bales in your pond in early Spring to ensure they are effective when algae growth begins.
