Product Information
Full details
Barley straw is a natural product and non-toxic, making it safe for all pond fish and wildlife. It works as a natural solution for the treatment of string algae, green water, and blanket weed in ponds. It is fish and plant friendly, pet and wildlife safe, offering a natural way to keep green water and algae at bay. The treatment takes 2-6 weeks for full effectiveness as it relies on the natural bacterial breakdown of the barley straw. It works best when the water temperature is 10°C or higher. It is recommended that the barley straw bales are placed in your pond in early Spring so that they can take effect when the algae begin to grow.
