Merrell - Moab Speed 2 Mid GORE-TEX® - Boots - UK 6.5

The GORE-TEX® membrane provides waterproofing and some warmth, but these boots are primarily designed for three-season hiking. For very cold or snowy conditions, consider insulated winter-specific boots.

The boots are true to size. We recommend ordering your usual shoe size. You can use a Brannock device for accurate measurement and compare it to the sizing chart. Ensure there is about a finger's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the boot when standing.

Yes, the insoles are removable and can be replaced with custom orthotics or aftermarket insoles if desired. Ensure the replacement insoles fit the boot's volume appropriately.

Vibram® outsoles are known for their durability and high performance. The specific Vibram® TC5+ compound used here is formulated for longevity and exceptional grip across various outdoor activities.

The GORE-TEX® membrane itself is inherently waterproof. Re-waterproofing treatments are generally applied to the upper materials to help water bead off and maintain breathability. Consider applying a treatment annually or if you notice water is no longer beading effectively on the exterior fabric.

The full-length rock plate is a protective layer embedded in the midsole that shields your feet from sharp rocks, roots, and other trail debris, enhancing comfort and safety on rugged terrain.

These boots are designed to be lightweight for their class, incorporating FloatPro® Foam and FlexPlate™ technology. While heavier than trail running shoes, they offer substantial support and protection for hiking.

Ensure laces are tightened properly to prevent water seeping in at the ankle collar. Check for any visible damage to the GORE-TEX® membrane. If damage is found, contact customer support. Ensure socks are not the source of moisture (e.g., non-wicking material).

Clean the Vibram® TC5+ outsole thoroughly with water to remove mud and debris that may be clogging the lugs. Inspect the lugs for excessive wear; if significantly worn, replacement may be necessary.

Ensure the boots are laced correctly, not too tight or too loose. Break in the boots gradually on shorter walks. Check sock thickness and material. Consider using insoles if the default fit causes specific pressure points.

Utilize the Cleansport NXT™ treatment by airing out the boots after use. Sprinkle baking soda inside the boots overnight to absorb odors, then shake out before next use. Ensure feet are clean and dry before wearing.
