Full details

The ON Running Cloudrunner 3 trainers in Seedling/Ivory are designed for adult female runners seeking daily comfort and enhanced support. Their key benefit lies in the 'Engineered Support' technology, which provides a stable, cushioned ride from hips to feet. A potential consideration is that while offering structured support, they may not be the ideal choice for neutral runners seeking a purely minimalist feel.

FAQs

What type of runner is the Cloudrunner 3 best for?

The Cloudrunner 3 is best for adult female runners seeking daily comfort and enhanced support, particularly those who benefit from a stable and cushioned ride on road surfaces.

What is the main advantage of the 'Engineered Support' in the midsole?

The Engineered Support system provides a wider base, an asymmetric TPU heel clip, and a secure upper fit, all working together to enhance stability and guide your stride comfortably.

How does the cushioning feel in the Cloudrunner 3?

It offers balanced cushioning, combining Helion foam with a new Cloud shape to provide a comfortable and supportive feel underfoot without being overly soft.

Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?

Yes, their focus on comfort and support makes them suitable for long-distance endurance runs, providing consistent performance mile after mile.

How do I clean my Cloudrunner 3 trainers?

Clean the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat.

What is the heel-to-toe drop of the Cloudrunner 3?

The heel-to-toe drop is 8mm.

Can these shoes be used for general fitness or walking?

Yes, the comfortable design and stable platform make them suitable for general fitness activities and walking in addition to running.

Troubleshooting

Shoes feel too tight or uncomfortable

Ensure you have selected the correct size. Try adjusting the lacing system to customize the fit. The plush materials may require a short break-in period.

Reduced cushioning or support over time

The cushioning and support elements, while durable, do degrade with extensive use. Consider replacing the shoes after reaching their mileage limit (typically 300-500 miles, depending on usage and runner weight).

Slipping on wet surfaces

While the outsole is designed for durability, it may offer less grip on very wet or slick surfaces. Exercise caution in such conditions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Offers excellent stability and support for daily runs.
Provides a cushioned and comfortable feel underfoot.
The plush tongue and heel ensure immediate comfort upon wearing.
Durable construction with an enhanced outsole for longevity.
Breathable mesh upper keeps feet comfortable during runs.

Cons

May offer more structure than strictly necessary for neutral runners.
The focus on support might make them feel less flexible for some.
Heel-to-toe drop of 8mm might not suit all running preferences.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Cloudrunner 3 requires no specific setup; they are ready to wear out of the box. Ensure you have selected the correct size using the ON Running size guide for optimal performance and comfort.

Compatibility: These trainers are designed for road running. They are compatible with most running surfaces but are best suited for paved paths, sidewalks, and light trails. They are not designed for technical off-road terrain.

Care: To maintain the quality and performance of your Cloudrunner 3 trainers:

Cleaning: Gently clean the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
Drying: Allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in a tumble dryer, as this can damage the materials.
Outsole: Brush off any accumulated dirt from the outsole after runs.
Storage: Store the shoes in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
