Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the laces completely before putting on the boots. The midcut knit collar may require a slight stretch to get your foot in comfortably.
- Fit Adjustment: Once your foot is in, pull the laces firmly, starting from the bottom eyelets, and work your way up. Ensure the boot feels snug and secure without being overly tight, allowing for proper blood circulation and comfort.
- Break-In: Like most performance football boots, a short break-in period is recommended. Wear them for light training sessions or casual use before full-intensity matches to allow the materials to mold to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These boots feature an FG/AG (Firm Ground/Artificial Ground) soleplate, meaning they are designed for optimal performance on:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm and dry.
- Artificial Ground (AG): Modern artificial turf surfaces.
Note: These boots are not recommended for soft, muddy natural grass pitches (SG) as the stud configuration is not designed for deep penetration required on such surfaces.
Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe off dirt and mud with a damp cloth or soft brush. For stubborn mud, rinse the soleplate under cold water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Air dry your boots at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage the materials and adhesives. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using a boot bag for transport to protect them from damage and keep other items clean.
- Odour Control: If odours develop, consider using boot deodorizers or placing baking soda packets inside the boots when not in use.
