Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Premier III FG boots are ready for action straight out of the box. Follow these steps for an optimal fit:
- Lacing: Loosen the laces completely before putting on the boots. This allows your foot to slide in easily.
- Foot Placement: Insert your foot, ensuring your heel is comfortably seated at the back of the boot.
- Tightening: Begin tightening the laces from the bottom (closest to the toes) working your way up. Ensure an even tension across your foot. The lace-up fastening allows for a secure and customized fit.
- Fold-Over Tongue: Once laced, fold the tongue down over the laces, securing it with any provided elastic or loop, if applicable. This creates the clean striking surface.
- Break-in (Optional but Recommended): While comfortable, leather boots often benefit from a short break-in period. Wear them during light training sessions or walks before competitive play to allow the leather to mold to your foot's unique shape.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are designed exclusively for firm ground (FG) football pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are dry to slightly damp.
- Not Recommended For: They are *not* suitable for artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor (IC) surfaces. Using them on incorrect surfaces can lead to premature wear, damage to the studs, and reduced performance.
- Player Type: Ideal for players of all positions who prioritize touch, control, and agility on firm ground.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather football boots:
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy or wet pitches, clean your boots. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and soleplate.
- Wipe Down: Wipe the leather upper with a damp cloth (not soaking wet) to remove any remaining grime. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never use direct heat sources like radiators, hair dryers, or direct sunlight, as this can dry out and crack the leather.
- Stuffing: To help maintain their shape and absorb moisture, stuff the boots with newspaper or a shoe tree while drying.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically, apply a suitable leather conditioner or cream to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. Follow the product's instructions for application.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Refer to Product Label: Always refer to the specific care instructions on the product label for any additional guidance.
