Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced securely but not overly tight. Start from the bottom eyelets and work your way up, pulling evenly to achieve a snug fit. The lace-up design allows for personalized tightness.
- Break-in (Optional but Recommended): While the FlyTouch Plus leather is highly adaptive, a short break-in period can further enhance comfort. Wear the boots for short training sessions before a competitive match to allow them to fully mold to your foot.
Compatibility
- Pitch Type: These boots are specifically designed for Soft Ground (SG) pitches. This includes natural grass fields that are wet, muddy, or heavily saturated. The specialized studs provide optimal penetration and grip in these conditions.
- Avoid: Do NOT use on Firm Ground (FG), Artificial Ground (AG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs and soleplate, and significantly reduce performance and comfort.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your Nike Tiempo Legend 10 Elite boots.
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy pitches, immediately clean the boots. Use a soft brush or cloth to remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and soleplate. For stubborn mud, a gentle stream of water can be used.
- Leather Care: For the FlyTouch Plus engineered leather upper, wipe with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated football boot cleaner or a mild soap solution. Allow the leather to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight) which can cause the leather to crack or harden.
- Soleplate & Studs: Pay attention to cleaning the Anti-Clog soleplate to ensure its effectiveness. Remove any mud or debris stuck between the studs. Inspect studs for wear or damage regularly.
- Drying: Once clean, stuff the boots with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape as they dry. Air dry at room temperature.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures. Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport.
