Product Information

Full details

The Nike Dunk Low Trainers are designed for adult women who appreciate 80s-inspired basketball heritage combined with modern everyday comfort. These sneakers offer a stylish, versatile aesthetic perfect for city outings and casual weekend wear, featuring lightweight cushioning and durable traction. A key caveat to note is that the synthetic leather and suede upper is designed to soften and gain a vintage, worn-in look over time, which may not be ideal if you prefer a pristine, brand-new appearance indefinitely.

FAQs

Are these sneakers suitable for playing basketball?

While inspired by 80s basketball shoes, these are designed as lifestyle footwear. They are not recommended for professional or high-intensity court sports.

How do I determine my size?

The Nike Dunk Low fits according to standard adult footwear sizing. We recommend checking your size against the provided UK sizing chart.

Can I put these shoes in the washing machine?

No, machine washing can damage the synthetic leather and adhesive. Always clean by hand with a damp cloth.

Will the material change appearance over time?

Yes, the synthetic leather and suede are specifically designed to soften and gain a vintage, worn-in character as you wear them.

What is the primary material used?

The upper is constructed from synthetic leather and textile, while the midsole is made of supportive foam.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming undone frequently

Ensure the laces are threaded properly through the top eyelet to create a tighter lock around the padded collar.

Build-up of dirt in the outsole pattern

Use a dry, soft-bristled brush to gently clear debris from the pivot circle grooves.

Creasing on the toe box

This is a natural characteristic of the material as it softens; using a shoe tree when not wearing the trainers can help maintain shape.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Classic retro-inspired aesthetic
Responsive and comfortable foam cushioning
Durable outsole with excellent grip
Padded collar for secure ankle comfort

Cons

Material evolves and softens with wear, changing appearance
Synthetic materials require specific cleaning care
Not intended for high-performance court sports despite basketball origins

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Nike Dunk Lows remain in the best condition:

Break-in Period: Expect a slight softening of the synthetic leather as the shoes adapt to your gait.
Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid submerging the sneakers in water. For stubborn marks on the sole, use a mild soap solution and a soft-bristled brush.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation.
Compatibility: These trainers fit standard adult sizing. If you prefer to wear thicker socks, consider how the padded collar fits around your ankle to ensure a comfortable, secure lacing experience.
