FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
The 373 series is designed for lifestyle and casual walking, not for high-impact running or intense athletic training.
How do I clean the suede material?
Always use dry cleaning methods like a suede brush. Avoid immersing the shoes in water, as this can ruin the suede finish.
Do these trainers fit true to size?
Yes, they generally follow standard sizing. If you prefer wearing thick socks, you may want to consider a half-size up.
Can the insoles be removed?
Yes, the insoles are generally removable if you need to use custom orthotics.
What is the primary material used?
These trainers feature a combination of premium suede for the upper and an EVA midsole for comfort.
Troubleshooting
The suede is showing light dust or surface marks
Use a specialized suede brush or a clean, dry toothbrush to gently lift dirt from the grain.
The shoes feel tight across the top of the foot
Loosen the laces starting from the eyelets closest to the toe to distribute tension more evenly.
Midsole is losing cushioning effectiveness
While EVA compresses over time, using high-quality third-party supportive insoles can often restore comfort for your specific arch needs.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Versatile design suitable for various casual outfits
- Lightweight feel prevents foot fatigue during daily wear
- High-quality suede materials offer a premium look

Cons
- Suede material requires extra care to avoid water damage
- Low-profile sole not intended for heavy athletic performance
- Limited arch support compared to dedicated performance runners
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your New Balance 373 trainers stay in top condition, follow these simple maintenance tips:
- Breaking In: These shoes generally fit true to size. Wear them indoors for short periods to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape.
- Suede Care: Because the exterior is crafted from suede, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt or dust. Avoid wearing these in heavy rain, as water can stain or alter the texture of the suede.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading and keep the material from becoming brittle.
- Cleaning: If the midsole gets scuffed, a damp cloth with mild soap is usually sufficient for a quick wipe-down.
