Full details
The Nike Running Vomero 18 Trainers are designed for adult female runners seeking maximum cushioning and comfort, especially for road running in wet conditions. Their key benefit is providing a dry and grippy experience with a balanced, stable stride, even in adverse weather. A potential consideration is that they offer neutral support, which may not be ideal for runners requiring pronation control. Key features include a dual-density midsole with ZoomX and ReactX foam, Storm-Tread outsole for wet-weather grip, reflective details for visibility, and a podular outsole for smooth heel-to-toe transitions.

FAQs
Are these trainers suitable for trail running?
These trainers are primarily designed for road running. While the Storm-Tread outsole provides good grip, it may not be aggressive enough for technical trail terrain.
What type of runner is the Vomero 18 best suited for?
The Vomero 18 is best suited for adult female runners with a neutral gait who prioritize maximum cushioning and comfort, especially for daily training and long runs on pavement.
How do I clean the white and green trainers?
Use a soft brush or cloth with cool water and mild soap for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals and allow them to air dry naturally away from heat.
Do the reflective details actually work?
Yes, the reflective details are designed to catch and reflect light from sources like headlights, significantly increasing your visibility to others in low-light conditions.
Can I use these for marathon training?
Yes, the ample cushioning and comfort make them a strong choice for marathon training, particularly for long runs where protection and reducing fatigue are key.
What is the main advantage of the Storm-Tread outsole?
The Storm-Tread outsole is engineered to provide excellent traction and keep your feet dry on wet surfaces, enhancing safety and comfort during rainy runs.
Will these trainers offer support if I overpronate?
The Vomero 18 provides neutral support. If you overpronate, you may benefit more from a stability shoe. It is recommended to consult with a running specialist if you are unsure about your gait type.
Troubleshooting
Laces coming undone frequently
Ensure laces are tied securely with a double knot. If the lace material is very smooth, consider a different lacing technique or replacing laces with a textured pair.
Discomfort or rubbing
Adjust the lacing to relieve pressure points. Ensure you are wearing appropriate running socks. If the issue persists, the shoe may not be the right fit for your foot shape.
Reduced grip on wet surfaces
Ensure the Storm-Tread outsole is clean and free from debris. Worn-out outsoles can lose their grip; consider replacement if significantly degraded.
Feet feeling damp after running in rain
While the Storm-Tread helps, it's not fully waterproof. Ensure the trainers are thoroughly dried after each use in wet conditions to prevent moisture build-up and maintain material integrity.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These trainers are ready to wear straight out of the box. Ensure a proper fit by lacing them snugly but comfortably, adjusting the tightness to your preference. The lace-up closure allows for personalized tension across the foot.
Compatibility: Designed for road running, these trainers are compatible with various running surfaces, particularly asphalt and concrete. They are best suited for neutral runners.
Care:
- Cleaning: For general cleaning, use a soft brush or cloth to remove loose dirt. For tougher stains, use a mild soap with cool water and a soft cloth or brush. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow the trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them near direct heat sources like radiators or in a tumble dryer, as this can damage the materials.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Weather Use: While designed for wet conditions, prolonged submersion or heavy saturation should be avoided. Ensure they dry thoroughly after use in the rain.
