FAQs
What is the pile height of this rug?
The pile height of this shaggy rug is 4cm, offering a thick, plush feel.
What material is the rug made from?
The rug is made from 100% Polyester, known for its softness and durability.
Can I use bleach or detergent to clean this rug?
No, it is strongly advised to avoid using bleach or detergent as these can cause irreversible color fade and damage to the rug fibres. Use a vacuum cleaner and wet wipes for cleaning.
Is this rug suitable for high-traffic areas?
While durable with its robust finish, shaggy rugs are generally best suited for medium-to-low traffic areas like living rooms and bedrooms to maintain their plushness and appearance over time.
How do I make sure the rug lasts a long time?
Regular vacuuming, prompt spot cleaning with wet wipes, and avoiding harsh chemicals are key. Rotating the rug periodically can also help ensure even wear.
Are there other patterns or colors available in this style?
Yes, this rug is part of a collection that includes 5 coordinated designs, such as waves, bordered, and swirl patterns, available in various colors.
Will the rug shed?
Initial shedding can be common with new shaggy rugs, but this typically reduces over time with regular vacuuming. The 100% Polyester construction helps minimize excessive shedding.
Troubleshooting
The rug color looks different from the online image.
Computer monitors display colors differently. We make every effort for accuracy, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings. Compare the rug in natural light.
How do I clean a stain or spill?
Immediately blot spills with clean wet wipes. Do not rub vigorously. Avoid using bleach or harsh detergents, as they will damage the color and fibres. For tougher stains, professional cleaning is recommended.
The rug is not laying flat after unrolling.
New rugs may have creases from packaging. Lay the rug flat and place heavy, flat objects on the affected areas for 24-48 hours to help it settle and flatten.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Extremely soft and plush underfoot for maximum comfort.
- Adds a luxurious and contemporary aesthetic with metallic colors.
- Durable 100% Polyester construction ensures longevity.
- Enhances room warmth and coziness.
- Relatively easy to maintain with vacuuming and wet wipes.
Cons
- Actual rug color may vary slightly from what is displayed on computer monitors.
- Requires specific care, avoiding harsh chemicals like bleach or detergent.
- High pile height (4cm) may be more challenging for some vacuum types to clean thoroughly.
Setup: Simply unroll the rug in your desired location, such as a living room or bedroom. Allow some time for any creases from packaging to settle; light objects placed on the corners can help flatten it faster.
Compatibility: This rug's contemporary style and orange striped pattern make it a versatile addition to modern and minimalist interiors. Its cool color palette and metallic accents can complement various decor schemes, especially those seeking a touch of warmth and visual texture. It coordinates well with other Desire Rugs designs, including waves, bordered, and swirl patterns, allowing for cohesive styling if you have other pieces from the collection.
Care: For general cleaning and maintenance, use a vacuum cleaner regularly to remove dust and loose debris. For spills or spots, use wet wipes immediately. It is crucial to avoid using bleach or detergent as these chemicals will cause color fade and damage the fibres. Regular, gentle care will help preserve the rug's soft texture and vibrant appearance for years.
