While the leather is durable, it is not waterproof. It is recommended to treat them with a leather-safe water repellent spray if you frequently walk in damp conditions.
Yes, if you require custom orthotics, the interior design of the Sutton series typically allows for the removal of the factory insole.
The Sutton series uses standard UK adult sizing. If you typically wear thin socks, order your usual size, but consider a half-size up if you prefer wearing thicker hosiery.
The standard fit is designed for average foot widths. If you have wider feet, you may find the leather stretches slightly over time, but you might consider trying a larger size for extra room.
Store them in a breathable fabric bag or a shoe rack, avoiding plastic containers which can trap humidity and lead to mold on the leather.
Leather is a natural material that will soften and mold to your foot shape after a short break-in period of light walking.
Use a matching shoe cream or neutral leather polish to buff out minor surface abrasions and restore the original sheen.
Remove the insoles if possible and stuff the shoes with newspaper or a cedar shoe tree overnight to absorb excess moisture and maintain the shape.
Because these are low shoes, there is no technical setup required—simply ensure the correct UK size is selected before purchase. To maintain the leather's longevity, wipe them down with a soft, dry cloth after use to remove dust. For mud or salt exposure, use a damp cloth followed by a high-quality leather conditioner. Avoid submerging the shoes in water, as this can degrade the natural hide. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources, which can cause the leather to crack over time.
