Troubleshooting

Line tangling during casts

Ensure the bail arm is fully opened before casting and avoid overfilling the spool with line beyond the recommended limit.

Reel feels stiff or gritty

Clean any sand or grit from the reel body and apply a small drop of reel lubricant to the handle pivot and bail spring.

Drag is not smooth

Check the front drag knob; ensure it is not overtightened. If the issue persists, ensure the drag washers are clean and free of water or oil residue.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Zebco Trout UL Combo, it is important to follow proper maintenance steps:

Setup: The combo arrives pre-spooled. Before your first cast, check the drag tension to ensure it releases line smoothly without creating excessive friction.
Compatibility: This set is best paired with lures weighing between 1g and 5g. Avoid using lures above this weight range, as it will compromise the rod's parabolic integrity.
Care: After fishing in water, wipe down the rod blank and the reel exterior with a slightly damp, clean cloth. Avoid submerging the reel in water. Periodically check the guide rings for any signs of line grooving or debris accumulation to prevent line damage.
