FAQs
Can I leave the awning extended during windy weather?
It is recommended to retract the awning during high winds or storms to prevent structural damage to the arms and mounting brackets.
Is the fabric waterproof?
The fabric is designed to be weather-resistant, providing shade and protection from light rain, but it is not intended to be a permanent rain shelter.
What is the primary power source for the electric motor?
The electric motor is designed to plug into a standard outdoor-rated electrical outlet.
Can I install this on a wood-siding wall?
Yes, provided the wall has solid structural backing behind the siding to support the weight and force exerted by the awning arms.
Does the remote require line-of-sight to operate?
Most models operate via radio frequency, meaning a direct line-of-sight is typically not required, though range can be impacted by thick walls.
Troubleshooting
Awning fails to extend or retract via remote
Check the power supply connection and ensure the remote batteries are fully charged or replaced.
Awning makes grinding noise during operation
Check the arm hinges for debris and apply a light silicone-based lubricant to moving joints.
Fabric appears uneven or sagging
Adjust the pitch and tension settings on the support arms to ensure the fabric remains taut when fully extended.
Pros and Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires a stable, vertical surface capable of bearing the tension of the extending arms. It is highly recommended to mount the unit onto masonry or reinforced timber structures using appropriate heavy-duty fasteners. Regularly inspect the bolts and bracket connections every season to ensure they remain tight. For care, clean the fabric periodically with a mild soap solution and soft brush to remove dust or organic matter. Always ensure the fabric is completely dry before retracting it for an extended period to prevent mold or mildew buildup within the cassette.
