FAQs

Is the Backstay Hooded Fleece waterproof?

No, this fleece is designed for warmth and insulation, not as a waterproof outer layer.

Can I wear this while hiking?

Yes, it is highly suitable as a warm mid-layer for hiking in cold conditions.

How should I clean the white fleece?

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach to prevent yellowing or damage.

Does the hood have an adjustment cord?

The hood is a 'grown-on' style designed for a secure fit without additional adjustment cords.

Is this suitable for summer weather?

Due to its thick, warming material, it is primarily intended for autumn, winter, or spring use.

Troubleshooting

Static buildup in the fabric

Use a fabric softener during the rinse cycle or a dryer sheet if machine drying on low heat.

Zip feels stiff or sticks

Ensure no fabric fibers are caught in the teeth and gently clean the track with a soft brush.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent warmth retention due to soft furry lining
Convenient full-length front zipper
Secure storage with dual zip pockets
Protective grown-on hood included
Versatile for both home and outdoor use

Cons

White fabric is prone to showing dirt and stains
Fleece material may be bulky under tight-fitting shells
Requires gentle care to maintain the softness of the lining

Setup, Compatibility & Care

As a garment, the fleece does not require assembly. For compatibility, it works best as a mid-layer underneath a windproof or waterproof outer shell jacket, as the fleece material itself is designed for warmth rather than weatherproofing. To ensure longevity, machine wash the fleece on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Avoid using harsh bleaching agents, as they can damage the fabric fibers and the furry lining. Hang to dry naturally to maintain the structural integrity of the hood and the softness of the interior backing.
