The Park Bottom Bracket Cleaning Tool is an essential utility for home mechanics and professional bike technicians seeking to extend the lifespan of their drivetrain components. No, the tool does not include solvents. Use it with your preferred bicycle-safe degreaser.
It is recommended to clean the shell whenever you perform a bottom bracket replacement or during an annual deep-clean service of the bike.
Yes, the tool is compact enough to navigate the interior of most press-fit shells to remove debris before pressing in new bearings.
Soak the brush head in warm soapy water and reshape the bristles with your fingers, then let it dry flat.
Apply a liquid degreaser to the shell and let it sit for a few minutes to soften the grease before using the tool again.
No complex setup is required for the Park Bottom Bracket Cleaning Tool; simply ensure the bottom bracket bearings are removed before use. It is compatible with most threaded and press-fit bottom bracket shells. To maintain the tool, rinse the bristles with warm, soapy water or a mild degreaser after each session to remove trapped particles. Allow the tool to air dry completely before storing it in a dry, cool environment to prevent the bristles from deforming or collecting dust. Avoid storing the tool with the bristles crushed under heavy parts to maintain their shape.
