FAQs
Can I use these for road running?
Yes, the outsole is versatile enough for road-to-trail use, though they are specifically optimized for off-road surfaces.
Are the insoles removable?
Yes, the OrthoLite Hybrid Max Lite insole is removable, making it easy to replace with custom orthotics if needed.
Are these waterproof?
No, they feature an engineered mesh upper designed for maximum breathability rather than water resistance.
How should I clean my GEL-Venture 11s?
Use a soft brush to remove dried mud, and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not put them in a washing machine.
What kind of arch support do they provide?
They offer neutral support, which is suitable for most runners who do not require significant corrective stability features.
Troubleshooting
Feeling of slipping or poor lockdown
Adjust the lacing pattern to a 'runner's loop' or heel lock to better secure the ankle.
Insole sliding or bunching
Ensure the insole is properly aligned with the heel cup and that the inside of the shoe is clean of debris.
Excessive moisture buildup inside
Check if your socks are made of moisture-wicking synthetic fibers; cotton socks can trap sweat and lead to internal moisture issues.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent balance of cushion and stability
- Breathable construction prevents overheating
- Versatile tread works well on both dirt and pavement
- Reduced irritation thanks to no-sew design
Cons
- Not intended for extreme technical mountain terrain
- Limited water resistance in heavy rain
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your GEL-Venture 11s, start by confirming the fit; the no-sew upper provides a secure lockdown, so ensure you have a thumb's width of space at the toe. Compatibility is highest with standard athletic socks. For care, remove the OrthoLite insole after particularly muddy runs to allow it to air dry separately. Avoid submerging the shoes in water or using harsh detergents. If the shoes become muddy, allow the mud to dry, then gently brush it off with a soft-bristled brush. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent foam degradation.
