Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started (Setup)
Upon receiving your Belstaff Pendulum Down Jacket, take a moment to familiarize yourself with its adjustable features:
- Hood Adjustment: Use the drawcords on the hood to tighten or loosen it for optimal coverage and warmth.
- Cuff Adjustment: Ensure the storm cuffs are comfortably snug around your wrists. Utilize the thumbholes for added warmth and to keep sleeves from riding up.
- Hem Adjustment: Pull the drawcord at the hem to cinch the bottom of the jacket, preventing cold air from entering and trapping warmth.
- Zipper Operation: The jacket features a double centre front zip. Practice zipping it up and down to ensure smooth operation, utilizing the snap button placket for extra security and warmth.
Compatibility
This jacket is designed for adult men (size XL, this specific variant) and is intended as an outer layer. Its versatile design pairs well with various casual and semi-casual cold-weather attire. It's suitable for a range of body types, with adjustments allowing for a comfortable fit.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care is crucial to maintain the performance and longevity of your down jacket. Always refer to the care label inside the jacket for specific instructions.
- General Cleaning: > Info needed: [Specific washing instructions from manufacturer's care label]
- Typically, down jackets with a polyester/elastane blend should be machine washed cold on a gentle cycle with a mild, down-specific detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Tumble dry on a low heat setting with a few clean tennis balls or dryer balls. This helps to re-fluff the down insulation and prevent clumping.
- Water Repellency: The water-repellent finish may degrade over time. > Info needed: [Recommendations for re-applying Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating, if applicable]
- Storage: Store the jacket clean and dry, preferably hung or loosely folded in a well-ventilated area. Avoid compressing it for extended periods, as this can damage the down's loft.
- Avoid: Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean (unless explicitly stated on the care label) as these can damage the materials and insulation.
