FAQs

What type of bulb should I use with this pendant?

The fixture is compatible with standard E26/E27 base bulbs. For dimming capabilities, use a compatible LED or incandescent bulb and ensure your wall switch is a dimmer.

Is this pendant suitable for damp locations like bathrooms?

No, this pendant is designed for dry, indoor locations only.

How long is the included chain?

Specific chain length information is typically found in the product's detailed specifications sheet or manual. Consult your retailer or the manufacturer's website for precise measurements.

Can I adjust the hanging height of the pendant?

Yes, the pendant comes with a chain that can be adjusted to achieve your desired hanging height during installation.

What is the warranty period for this light?

Warranty information varies by retailer and manufacturer. Please refer to the product packaging or contact Davey Lighting customer support for details.

How does the 'weathered' finish differ from a polished copper finish?

The weathered finish has an intentionally aged, patinated look with variations in tone and color. A polished copper finish is bright, smooth, and highly reflective.

Can I install this fixture myself?

Basic electrical knowledge and adherence to safety precautions are recommended. For complex installations or if you are unsure, it is best to hire a qualified electrician.

Troubleshooting

Light does not turn on

Check that the power supply is on, the bulb is securely screwed in, and the wiring connections are correct. Consult an electrician if issues persist.

Flickering light

Ensure the bulb is compatible with your dimmer switch (if used) and is properly seated. Try a different bulb.

Copper finish appears uneven or tarnished

This is often a natural characteristic of weathered copper. For removal of excessive tarnish, use a specialized copper cleaner applied with a soft cloth, following product instructions carefully. Note that this may alter the original weathered look.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Adds significant character and a vintage focal point to a room.
  • Durable copper construction ensures longevity.
  • Provides effective downward lighting suitable for task areas.
  • Unique design elements like the hand-spun reflector are rarely found in modern fixtures.
  • The weathered finish offers a distinct, non-uniform aesthetic.

Cons

  • The weathered copper may require specific care to maintain its appearance.
  • Might be too specific in style for minimalist or contemporary interiors.
  • Installation may require professional assistance depending on electrical setup.
  • The downward lighting might not be ideal for broad ambient illumination without supplementary lights.
  • The copper material could be susceptible to tarnishing if not properly maintained.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure power to the light fixture circuit is turned off at the breaker box before installation.
  2. Follow the included instructions or consult a qualified electrician for mounting the ceiling hook and chain, and connecting the wiring.
  3. Adjust the chain length as needed for desired hanging height.

Compatibility:

  • This fixture is designed for standard household electrical systems. Use with dimmable bulbs if you wish to control light intensity (check bulb compatibility).
  • Suitable for indoor use only.

Care:

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the weathered copper finish, avoid abrasive cleaners. If polishing is desired, use a specialized copper cleaner sparingly and apply to a cloth, not directly to the fixture. Be aware that polishing will alter the weathered appearance.
  • Clean the white interior with a slightly damp cloth, ensuring it is completely dry afterward.
