FAQs
Are these gloves fully waterproof?
The Montane Trail Lite Gloves are water-resistant due to their softshell fabric, offering protection against light rain and snow. However, they are not designed for prolonged immersion or heavy downpours; for that, consider a fully waterproof glove.
How do I determine the right size?
Measure the circumference of your palm and the length from your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. Compare these measurements to the brand's sizing chart, typically found on their website or product packaging, to find the best fit.
Can I wash these in a washing machine?
It is recommended to hand wash the gloves in cool water with a mild detergent. Machine washing, especially with harsh cycles or hot water, can damage the fabric and its performance features.
Will the touch screen compatibility wear out?
The touch screen compatibility is integrated into the fabric of the fingertips. While generally durable with proper care, excessive friction or damage to the fingertips could potentially affect this feature over time.
What is the 'boxwall construction'?
Boxwall construction refers to how the fabric panels of the fingers are constructed, creating a 'box' shape. This design enhances the fit and dexterity of the fingers, allowing them to move more naturally and reducing strain.
Are these suitable for extreme winter conditions?
These gloves are best suited for moderate cold and active use. For extreme cold or static activities in freezing temperatures, you might need insulated gloves with a higher thermal rating.
Troubleshooting
Touchscreen not responding
Ensure the fingertips are clean and dry. Press more firmly on the screen. Check that the glove material is making direct contact with the screen.
Hands feel cold
Verify gloves are the correct size and not too tight, which can restrict circulation. For extreme cold, consider layering with thinner liner gloves.
Reduced dexterity
Ensure the gloves are fully broken in. The pre-curved design should aid dexterity; if not, check sizing.
Material pilling or damage
Avoid abrasive contact. Follow care instructions precisely to maintain material integrity.
