FAQs

What is the attachment height for this awning?

The Outwell Armona is designed for vehicles with an attachment height of 175 cm to 200 cm.

Can I hang a lamp from the ceiling?

Yes, you can use the integrated HookTrack System to hang lights or gear weighing up to 1.5 kg.

Is the groundsheet removable?

No, this model features a sewn-in groundsheet to provide a sealed, draft-free, and bug-free environment.

How do I keep the interior cool?

Utilize the double-zip front door and the full mesh panel to encourage cross-ventilation while keeping insects out.

How should I clean the awning fabric?

Use a soft brush and clean water. Avoid using soaps or detergents as they may damage the waterproof coating.

Troubleshooting

Awning feels unstable in windy weather

Ensure all guylines are properly tensioned and pegged at 45-degree angles. Check that all poles are locked firmly into their designated sleeves.

Zipper is sticking

Do not force the zipper. Clean the track of any debris and ensure the fabric is not caught in the teeth. Using a silicone-based zipper lubricant can help.

Water pooling on the canopy

Adjust the tension of the webbing straps and guylines to ensure the fabric remains taut and water can run off freely.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Symmetrical design allows for multiple entry points
Effective ventilation with full mesh panels
Includes convenient gear-hanging HookTrack system
Sewn-in groundsheet offers superior weather protection

Cons

Strict attachment height requirement of 175-200 cm
Poled structure takes more time to set up than air-beam models
Requires careful alignment with the vehicle for a secure fit

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure a secure attachment, verify that your vehicle's attachment height is within the 175-200 cm range. Setup is straightforward: assemble the poles, thread them through the sleeves, and use the fixed access zone to connect to your van. Always ensure the awning is dry before packing it away to prevent mildew buildup. Clean the polyester fabric using only water and a soft brush; avoid harsh detergents, as they can degrade the water-repellent coating. Regularly check that all poles are seated correctly in their eyelets and that guylines are tensioned to maintain the awning's structural integrity.
