FAQs
Are these shoes true to size?
The XT-6 GTX has a technical, performance-oriented fit. Many users find them slightly snug, so if you prefer a roomier toe box, consider sizing up by a half size.
Can I use these for heavy trail running?
While the XT-6 GTX features trail-inspired technology, it is designed as a versatile trainer that bridges the gap between urban fashion and outdoor functionality.
How do I clean the mesh upper?
Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap, then air dry away from direct sunlight.
Is the lace system replaceable?
Yes, Salomon's Quicklace system is designed to be user-serviceable. Replacement lace kits are widely available.
Do these shoes provide good arch support?
Yes, the combination of the OrthoLite sockliner and the structured EnergyCell midsole provides robust support suitable for most foot shapes.
Troubleshooting
Quicklace feels difficult to tighten
Ensure the lace path is free of debris and that the stopper is not obstructed by mud or dust.
Waterproofing seems less effective
Clean the outer mesh of dirt and salt build-up, as these substances can affect the breathability and performance of the waterproof membrane.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptional grip on diverse terrain
- Effective waterproof protection
- Highly durable construction for daily wear
- Efficient and secure lacing system
Cons
- Stiffer feel than traditional trainers
- May feel narrow for those with wider feet
- Requires time to break in the upper materials
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your XT-6 GTX trainers, keep the lacing system free of grit or mud after use. If the shoes become dirty, gently scrub the exterior with a soft brush and lukewarm water; avoid using harsh detergents that might compromise the waterproof membrane. When adjusting the fit, use the Quicklace stopper to secure the tension evenly across the instep. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources to prevent the materials from drying out or warping.
