Thompson & Morgan Acer Palmatum Cascade Ruby Weeping Japanese Maple - 3L Potted Plant

Only light, corrective pruning is necessary. Remove dead or damaged branches in late autumn or winter when the tree is dormant.

Yes, it is excellent for containers. Ensure you use a large enough pot to support root growth and refresh the top layer of soil annually.

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. During hot, dry spells, check the moisture level daily to ensure the soil remains evenly moist.

It prefers fertile, slightly acidic, and well-drained soil. Avoid heavy clay or waterlogged conditions.

It is a hardy variety, but if you are in an area with extreme frost, container-grown plants can be moved to a sheltered garage or patio area during the coldest months.

This is often caused by low humidity, wind exposure, or insufficient watering. Move to a more sheltered spot and increase watering frequency.

Check for signs of overwatering or poor drainage. Ensure the container has adequate drainage holes and allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings.

While seasonal variation is normal, ensure the tree is receiving enough light during the day, as deep shade can inhibit the development of autumn pigments.
