Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup
Simply unlace the trainers to loosen them sufficiently, slide your foot in, and lace them up to your desired snugness. The 'regular fit' is designed for immediate comfort.
Compatibility
- Apparel: The Adidas Samba OG pairs well with a wide range of casual and smart-casual attire, including jeans, chinos, shorts, dresses, and skirts. Their classic design makes them highly versatile.
- Socks: For optimal comfort and to protect the synthetic lining, wear with appropriate socks. Cotton or blended socks are generally suitable for everyday wear.
Product Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the appearance of your Samba OG trainers, given their leather and suede components.
- Initial Protection: Consider applying a leather/suede protector spray before the first wear. This can help repel water and prevent stains.
- Cleaning the Leather Upper:
- Wipe down regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove surface dirt.
- For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated leather cleaner applied with a soft brush or cloth. Follow the cleaner's instructions carefully.
- Do not immerse in water or machine wash.
- Cleaning the Suede Details:
- Use a suede brush to gently remove loose dirt and restore the nap.
- For stains, use a specific suede cleaner and follow product instructions. A suede eraser can also be effective for scuffs.
- Avoid excessive scrubbing or using water directly on suede, as it can stain or stiffen.
- Cleaning the Rubber Outsole:
- Use a brush (an old toothbrush works well) with mild soap and water to scrub away dirt and grime from the textured sole.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Drying: If your trainers get wet, stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help retain their shape. Air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight, which can cause leather to crack or fade.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees can help maintain the shape and absorb moisture.
- Conditioning: Periodically condition the leather parts with a leather conditioner to keep them supple and prevent cracking. Avoid applying conditioner to suede.
