FAQs

Is this robe suitable for all weather conditions?

Yes, the Isotex 20000 fabric is designed for heavy rain and wind, making it highly versatile for most outdoor environments.

Can I machine wash this robe?

Yes, it is machine washable, but please use a gentle cycle with a specialized technical fabric cleaner and avoid fabric conditioners.

Does it provide enough room to change clothes inside?

The robe is cut with a wide, generous fit specifically to allow you to pull your arms inside to change comfortably.

How do I choose the right size?

The robes are designed to be oversized to accommodate changing. If you are between sizes, consider your height and if you prefer a longer or shorter length.

Is the fabric heavy to wear?

While durable and protective, the robe has some weight due to the fleece lining and waterproof shell, but it is engineered for comfort while stationary.

Troubleshooting

Water is soaking into the outer shell instead of beading off.

The DWR coating has likely worn off. Wash the garment to remove dirt/oils and apply a new DWR spray treatment.

The fleece lining feels damp or smells musty.

Ensure the robe is hung in a location with high airflow after use. Avoid leaving it wadded up in a bag.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent waterproofing and wind resistance
  • Extremely warm interior lining for cold climates
  • Breathable fabric prevents overheating during active use
  • Secure storage with zippered pockets
  • Generous fit allows for easy changing underneath

Cons

  • Larger footprint compared to microfiber towels
  • Requires proper air-drying to prevent odor build-up
  • May feel heavy when fully saturated with external moisture

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This robe is designed as a 'pull-on' garment. To maintain the effectiveness of the Isotex membrane and the DWR coating, follow these care steps:

  1. Washing: Use a mild, technical-fabric friendly detergent. Do not use fabric softeners, as these degrade the waterproof coating.
  2. Drying: Hang the robe in a well-ventilated space out of direct sunlight. Allow the fleece lining to air dry completely before storing.
  3. Re-proofing: If you notice water no longer beads on the outer shell, apply a spray-on DWR treatment to restore performance.
  4. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing the robe tightly for long periods to preserve the loft of the fleece lining.
